Clinical Research Activity at CEMBE - 2012
The clinical research activity of the Centre for the Study of Evidence-Based Medicine (CEMBE) was published in several national and international publications in 2012, of which a systematic review of the role of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor blockers on the risk of pneumonia published recently in the British Medical Journal (BMJ 2012;345:e4260 doi: 10.1136/bmj.e4260), stands out. The quality of the work was enhanced by the placement of this study in a prominent position in the BMJ, as well as by the corresponding editorial. This work was also published as a Structured Abstract by the editors of the Annals of Internal Medicine in its ACP Journal Club (which is a section of the Annals in Continuing Medical Education).
