The University of Lisbon has joined the National Network for Brain Functional Imaging http://www.brainimaging.pt/, which is a consortium of institutions of higher education that conduct advanced research on the brain with the support of the Portuguese government. It was set up in 2007 and is led by the University of Coimbra, also featuring the collaboration of the Universities of Aveiro, Porto, Minho, and Catholic. It is an exemplary project for the promotion of scientific research in the field of brain imaging based on shared knowledge and resources.
