Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon signs protocols with Universities in Brazil
On 7 October, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL) signed a Cooperation Protocol with the Faculty of Medicine of Minas Gerais (Faculty of Medicine UFMG). This protocol aims to enable a constant exchange of knowledge in the field of medical sciences and research, encouraging the development of joint projects, events and scientific publications. The most ambitious goal of this agreement is to foster the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, whose start is expected in 2012.
On 10 October the Cooperation Agreement between FMUL and the Federal University of São (Unifesp) was also signed. The latter joined the Egas Moniz Programme for Cooperation in the Area of Medical and Biomedical Sciences, which had already been signed by the University of Lisbon and the University of Minas Gerais.
This Programme will foster research and improved medical practice of students from several institutions. Academic mobilization is the added-value in these agreements, as the exchange of educational and medical knowledge experiences is fundamental.
