The Advanced Training Course in Multidisciplinary Grief Intervention aims to deepen participants' understanding of grief and equip them to respond effectively to specific needs and contexts.

Objectives

  • Understand the fundamental concepts of grief and its different manifestations, through the lens of the main conceptual models of grief.
  • Expand knowledge on grief at different stages of the life cycle, types of losses, and specific contexts, including crisis and emergency situations.
  • Develop practical skills in the assessment and intervention of grief, both universally and selectively, across individual, family, group, and community settings.

 

Specific Learning Outcomes

The course includes a strong practical and experiential component, through case analysis, group dynamics, and role-playing simulations. Students will develop skills such as:
Identifying and distinguishing between normal grief, at-risk grief, and Prolonged Grief Disorder.
Understanding and applying universal and selective intervention strategies in individual, family, and group settings, based on specific needs and contexts.

 

Target Students

  • The course is designed for professionals and students or graduates in Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, and other health-related fields; educators; professionals in the Social Sciences and Humanities; and others in relevant disciplines.
  • Students may enroll in the full postgraduate course or choose individual modules. All modules are available to external students.
