Description of the contracting entity:

A3ES – Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency is a foundation governed by private law, constituted for an indefinite period, endowed with legal personality and recognized as being of public utility. Under the terms of the legal diploma that established it, it is responsible for evaluating and accrediting higher education institutions and their study cycles, as well as carrying out functions inherent to Portugal's inclusion in the European system of quality assurance in higher education. 

Function Description:

In view of the object of A3ES' activities, the function to be fulfilled consists of monitoring and supporting the evaluation/accreditation processes of higher education institutions and their study cycles, namely managing the procedures relating to such processes and providing qualified technical support the external scientific evaluation committees and the Agency's decision-making bodies. In addition, they may be associated in greater depth with some of the areas of knowledge development, under the responsibility of the Agency.

Applicant profile:

Candidates must have a doctor's degree in any scientific area; in-depth command of the English language, written and spoken; computer domain, from the user's point of view; familiarity with statistical programs. It is a condition of preference for the admission of the application to have experience in higher education, as a teacher, researcher or manager. The Board of Directors will conduct face-to-face interviews with the candidates who present the CVs most suited to the functions. Candidates who meet the admission requirements of the application will be admitted to carry out a paid internship, lasting 6 months, which includes the mandatory attendance of a training course in the functional area in question. Those admitted to the internship will be subject to evaluation in the training action they will attend, with only candidates approved in the final evaluation of the action being admitted to the exercise of functions
