Keep In Mind
Medical Volunteers International | Collecting Goods
From July to September, Sebastião Castanheira Martins, a 6th-year student at our Faculty, will travel to Greece as a volunteer with the Association known as Medical Volunteers International. This work will be conducted between Salonika and Lesbos.
Medical Volunteers International is responsible for providing primary health care to newly-arrived refugees. After crossing the Mediterranean, there are those who arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Medical Volunteers International thus seeks to provide the best care to anyone requesting it while donating essentials that are still lacking.
In this regard, it is organising a drive to collect the following items:
- Boxers/Briefs for young adults
- Socks
- T-Shirts, size M or L
- Paracetamol, antifungal ointments and Mebendazol (over-the-counter anti-parasitic)
Donated goods can be placed in the box at the entrance to the University of Lisbon Faculty of Medicine Students' Association until 13 July. All donated goods will be delivered in person by this student to the association and distributed among those needing them most.
Because small gestures make the difference!
Let's all help!
