The survival of (some) tumour cells and the hideouts of the parasites
In this edition of iMM Corner, we get to know two more scientific articles:
The most recent work of the research group led by Claus M. Azzalin, a leading researcher for iMM, featured this week in the Nature Communications journal, shows how a human enzyme called FANCM (Fanconi anaemia, complementation group M) is strictly necessary for the survival of a subgroup of ALT tumour cells. The results suggest that future strategies that target the activity of this molecule may form the basis of a new therapeutic protocol for the treatment of these tumours.
