Launch of the First Issue of the ULISBOA Magazine
The launch of the new magazine of ULisboa took place on 7 December at the Kaleidoscope of the University of Lisbon.
Professor António Feijó, Director of the Magazine, opened the session, stating that "this project was born out of a desire to create an instrument to disseminate the various activities of the University of Lisbon, the people who constitute it and the breadth and detail of its material and immaterial heritage." He informed that all Schools will receive the Magazine, as well as all the lecturers, researchers, administrative staff, and students. This first issue highlights an interview with Architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, presents the Pavilion of Portugal, Heritage of ULisboa since 2015, and introduces the Tropical Botanical Garden, part of the University’s heritage also since 2015.
The Rector of the University, Professor António Cruz Serra, said that the magazine "will report on the initiatives of the Schools that form it and on the scientific and cultural activity that brings them together." It will be a quarterly publication published four times a year, taking into account the nature the academic calendar.
The auditorium was full and in the end the participants were invited to see the new magazine first-hand.
