For this issue, we chose a work that stands out for its superb illustration quality. The approximately 360 engravings of the various plant species were hand-coloured and made by the couple Regnault, Nicolas François and Geneviève Nangis. These are the ones that especially catch our attention, not least because of their dimensions: 47 × 32 cm make the three volumes that make up this work hardly portable. This is a little publicized text: the edition is rare and the author's biographical data are scarce.
