It is entitled # EUwomen4future the European campaign that highlights the work of women, highlighting their achievements in the areas of Science, Research and Innovation, Education and Youth, Culture and Sport, and which recently distinguished two women of Science in Portugal: Maria Carmo Fonseca, Professor at FMUL and President of the Institute of Molecular Medicine João Lobo Antunes, and Elvira Fortunato, vice-chancellor of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Director of CENIMAT - Center for Materials Research.

Maria do Carmo Fonseca is on the list of the most influential women in Portugal, for whom the fascination of Science lies in “the freedom to have ideas and design experiments to test them”.
