Fausto J. Pinto, Director of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and President of the World Heart Federation, was a special guest at the 4th Congress of the Medical Association of Cape Verde.
One of the themes mentioned at the congress was "telemedicine in times of pandemic".
According to Fausto J. Pinto, both telemedicine and digital media are excellent ways to improve the population's access to health. As an example, he mentioned patients with heart failure who, from their homes, with access to a set of electronic devices, have remote monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate.
At this meeting, it became clear that the promotion of digital health will improve the population's access to health and information.
In Cape Verde, the Director visited the Agostinho Neto Hospital and met with the Minister of Health of Cape Verde, Dr Arlindo do Nascimento Rosário, and visited the University of Cape Verde.
