Assessment of Post-Traumatic Bodily (Personal) Injury

Designed to provide all professionals who perform functions within the scope of Bodily Injury Assessment (Personal) with competence and practice in the field of judicial and extrajudicial intervention in the repair of damage.

This course allows doctors and dentists to carry out expert activity in accordance with their medical specialty, contributing to developing or updating the knowledge of the respective professionals who carry out or may carry out professional activity in insurance companies, courts and other institutions public or private related to expert activity.

It is aimed at graduates and masters in Medicine and Dentistry, but professionals in the areas of Law, Psychology, Nursing and Social Work may be admitted.

Objectives

  • Create a period of acquisition of basic skills in assessing bodily harm (knowledge, skills and attitudes), with a view to preparing doctors and dentists to act correctly and appropriately, in the best interests of society and always in accordance with the law, when faced in their professional life with issues of repairing the damage, regardless of the area in which they work, in order to contribute to an adequate and fair assessment of the damage to the person.
  • Provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a qualified assessment of damage to the person in its various areas.

Skills acquisition

  • To enable students to obtain a set of basic knowledge about the various aspects of damage assessment, with regard to its scope, objectives, competencies and relevant legislation, with particular emphasis on the way in which this area contributes to the good administration of justice.
  • To enable students to obtain a set of practical skills for a qualified assessment of damage and personalized to the person in its various domains.

  • It is a specialization course recommended for all doctors and dentists who work as experts.

Target Students

  • Holders of a bachelor's or master's degree in Dentistry and Medicine;
  • Holders of a bachelor's or master's degree in Law;
  • Holders of equivalent foreign university degrees, whose curriculum demonstrates adequate basic preparation and for whom the scientific committee of the study cycle gives a favorable opinion.

 

Admission Conditions

Candidates for the course will be selected based on the criteria to be published in the Course Notice for 2024-2025, according to the recipients. All candidates admitted to the selection process are ranked according to the score obtained in the curricular selection process, which can be eliminatory, and interview according to the weighting defined by the Scientific Committee of the Specialization Course:

Curricular Assessment: 60%;

Interview: 40%.
